In the Footsteps of Count Basie, is a new APP that explores the life of Red Bank’s Native Son, William “Count” Basie, as a walking tour. The APP provides information on historically and culturally significant locations in Red Bank that are associated with Count Basie and other local Black figures.

The APP was created by students Jonah Sussman, Mia Ladolcetta and Nina Tripathi, in conjunction with the T. Thomas Fortune Cultural Center. They are seniors at High Tech High School in Lincroft and have been accepted at some of the top universities in the nation (MIT, Cornell).
